Daphnie's Magical Unicorn Birthday Pool Party

One of my many hobbies is party planning! I get to do it once a year for Daphnie's birthday and we have so much fun doing it! This year the theme was Unicorns, which are all the rage at the moment. I love how everything turned out!

Daphnie's Outfit:
As soon as I saw this dress launch on Joyfolie's site (here) I knew it was going to be perfect for her party, and for every day for the rest of the summer pretty much! The fabric is amazing, so soft and comfortable. Perfect for warm summer days! Buy it here: Joyfolie

The Cake:
I learned a LOT making this cake. This is round 2; I made a practice cake for her actual birthday. The decorations on the first one were better, but cake/smoothing was better on this one...now if I could just put everything I learned when making each together, I might actually have a pretty decent cake!
Since I am absolutely horrible at fondant, I tried my hand at buttercream smoothing, this one turned out really well and I really like it! I will definitely be trying it out again. Let me know in the comments if you would like a tutorial on the Unicorn cake?

The Cake Pops:
See how to make these lovely little beauties here: Unicorn Cake Pops

The Favors:
We decided on these adorable edible favors, you can find out a tutorial on exactly what I used and how to make them here: Unicorn Sugar Cookies

Birthday SURPRISE from #FLOATY!
Daphnie was surprised to get her very own Unicorn Floaty! How adorable is this float!? She also got two of the small Unicorn Floats for your drinks. These floats are such great quality! I have seen other brands that look the same but use a much cheaper material. #Floaty uses a thicker, more durable material that can withstand all of the attention that the float will get! Check them out here: #Floaty

Daphnie's Swimsuit from Stella Cove:
We absolutely LOVE Stella Cove suits. Daphnie has quite a few of them and loves wearing them. They are so cute and really great quality! This one is absolutely perfect for the occasion! You can find it here: Stella Cove

DIY Hairstyle Ideas {That Take Less Than 10 Minutes}

I am always looking for new ways to do Daphnie's hair! It is so long and especially during the summer I try to keep it up and out of her face. I thought I'd share a few of my favorite styles. Let me know what you think! Should I start doing hair tutorials? Which one do you want to see done?

Summer Science Activity : Grow Your Own Geodes!

Last school year Daphnie got her first taste of Science in school and absolutely loved it! With two parents in the STEM field we weren't surprised. She is constantly talking about science and attempts to perform her own science experiments in the house {usually with water and soap as those are the only ingredients she has access to}. So to help save on wasted soap, I decided to dedicate a few hours one night a week to Science Night!
This week we made Geodes! How cool are these?

This fun DIY is easy to make at home!
