Summer Science Activity : Grow Your Own Geodes!

Last school year Daphnie got her first taste of Science in school and absolutely loved it! With two parents in the STEM field we weren't surprised. She is constantly talking about science and attempts to perform her own science experiments in the house {usually with water and soap as those are the only ingredients she has access to}. So to help save on wasted soap, I decided to dedicate a few hours one night a week to Science Night!
This week we made Geodes! How cool are these?

This fun DIY is easy to make at home!
What you need: Borax  {} Food Coloring Pipe Cleaners {I got mine from Target, here!} Water Pot or Deep Pan Long wooden spoon or dowel {a ruler would even work} String {I used fishing line}

Instructions: 1. Fill pot about 3/4 full of water, make sure the pan is deep enough for you to suspend an object about the size of your fist in it from the top. Bring the water to a boil.
2. Add food coloring! {I used around 35 drops}
3. Add Bo…

Darling VoxBox from Influenster Review + Tips on How to Score a VoxBox!

Almost two months ago I joined an online influencer community - Influenster. It gives me the opportunity to try new products for free in return for my honest review! This is my second box (#DarlingVoxBox) from them and it's packed full of so many great new products.
I received this box and all contents for free from Influenster in exchange for my review and honest opinions. All opinions in this blog are my own.

Here are a few of our favorites from the box so far (I haven't had a chance to give them all a try just yet!)
Nature's Bounty Energy Gummy Vitamins As a busy mom, I will never say no to more energy - so why not get a little boost from doing something I already do every day - take my vitamins! These gummies are delicious, I love the watermelon flavor.

Duncan Hines Perfect Size for 1 Before receiving the #DarlingVoxBox we had already tried many flavors of these delicious deserts/cakes. They are so delicious. I was so skeptical when I first saw them - there was no way …

Unicorn Sugar Cookies - Birthday Party Favors

Unicorn Sugar Cookies
This year is my 7th year throwing my daughter a birthday party. If there is one thing I've learned, its that favors are typically cheap and end up either left at the party or get thrown away shortly after. Knowing that, I try to get favors that are either useful or like this year, edible!
How cute are these Unicorn Sugar Cookies!

I got the cookie cutter from a shop on Etsy, you can find it here
Sugar Cookies Ingredients: 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened 1 cup confectioner's sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt
Directions: With a mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and salt, blend well. Slowly add flour. Once fully mixed, knead the dough into a ball. Cover dough and chill for approximately 2 hours. It is very important to chill the dough, otherwise it will not keep it's shape when baked.
Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutter. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.  Cool b…

What Daphnie Wore - May Edition

I loved Daphnie's outfits this month, so many cute styles and so many pieces are super accessible and affordable! Let me know in the comments which outfit you liked the most!
Daphnie wore a lot of Abercrombie this month - we have been crazy about their adorable summer styles! Also - I didn't know this until last fall, but Abercrombie sells toddler sizes now too!

Another outfit from Abercrombie Kids, I am noticing as I'm creating this post that we used these shoes by Stuart Weizman in so many outfits last month! They are so cute and effortless. Fashion sneakers are super trendy right now and these gold glittery beauties are no exception. Bonus: I found these at Nordstrom Rack!
